Day 1: Fly Addis Ababa-Arbaminch Fly to Arbaminch, before transfer in, drive directly to the highland town of Chencha inhabited by Dorze people. Day 2: Arbaminch-Konso - Nech Sar National Park Drive to visit Konso village where colorfully costumed dress, impressive terracing of the land and unusually engraved wooden statues used as grave markers can be seen. After visiting the Konso village and the surrounding landscape, drive back to Arbaminch for lunch and then afternoon boat trip on Lake Chamo to explore the lakes and Nechsar National park. Day 3 Arbaminch -Awasa Drive to Awassa via Shashemene possibly exploring Senqele Wild life Sanctuary and its high concentration of the endemic Swayne's hartebeest. The lake side city of Awasa is one of the fast growing and seat for the SPNNR located within the rift valley. The fresh water of the lake supports a rich variety of fish and water birds. Day 4 Awasa -Addis Ababa Morning drive to fish market of Awasa for exploring the lake and the fish market exchange around the shore of the lake and then drive back to Addis Ababa via Shashemene exploring Abijata -Shala Lakes National park and enroute visit the crater lakes around Bishoftu. Then slow drive to Addis Ababa and end of the tour. |
